Name: Pink Bourbon PEABERRY
For years, Peaberry was the outsider, the misfit of the coffee world. Small, round, and unusual, these beans were once tossed aside, seen as “defects” in a crop where uniformity was the norm. But like all true rebels, Peaberry was destined for something more. Eventually, someone with a bold, creative vision decided to give these little beans a chance and discovered an extraordinary flavor hidden within.
From Rejected to Revered
Unlike the typical coffee bean that grows in pairs, Peaberry grows alone, in about 5% of coffee cherries. This single, rounded bean is different, denser, more concentrated, and, as it turns out, exceptionally delicious. Once discarded because of its small size, Peaberry now holds a place of honor as one of the world’s most FINEST coffees.
Why is Peaberry So Rare?
In the world of coffee, most cherries produce two beans that grow side-by-side, flat and familiar. But every now and then, something different happens: one solitary, oval-shaped bean grows alone. This rare bean; Peaberry is nature’s little surprise, making up less than 5% of any coffee harvest. It’s a coffee “rebel” because of its shape, its flavor, and the extra work it takes to find it.
